07/28/2022 – Day 151 – Psalms 63 – 65 – Praying the Psalms… // “Some people do not like to hear much of repentance; but I think it is so necessary that I should die in the pulpit, I would desire to die practicing it.” Matthew Henry

My Matthew Henry quote is a repeat from last cycle on this Day 151, 10/15/2020 post. Many of you will recognize Matthew (1662 – 1714) as one of my most quoted commentators. It is not about the messenger, but I encourage y’all to read his short bio in the link at the bottom of this post. Quick personal note: The prayer acronym ‘ACTS” is ever so helpful: “Adoration / Confession / Thanksgiving / Supplication”. I submit that supplication is appropriately last.

Let’s look at the first few verses in Psalm 65: “Praise awaits you, O God, in Zion; to you our voews will be fulfilled. O you who hear prayer, to you all men will come. When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions. Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts! We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple.” Psalm 65: 1-4

Soli Deo Gloria! ; Blessings to your day….
