Example: Jonathan Cahn’s Sapphire Daily Devotion – September 13, 2022: The Feast of the Harvest (Shavuot) connects later to the Christian Pentecost (“Khag Ha Katzeer”). So we thought Leviticus was boring? Is Pentecost, the outpouring of God’s eternal spirit on lost souls, boring? The Old Testament and the New Testament are not two separate books! Soli Deo Gloria indeed!

The Other Katzeer
Tuesday, September 13, 2022

The Lord sent the Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, the Hebrew Feast of Shavuot. It’s also called in Hebrew – Khag Ha Katzeer – the Feast of Harvest. In Israel the wheat harvest begins in the early summer with Shavuot-Pentecost. Every year the Israelites would celebrate Shavuot in Jerusalem, then reap their harvest fields. The Spirit came on Pentecost because Pentecost is Khag Ha Katzeer – The Feast of Harvest to begin the harvest of souls. The Spirit came to give us the power to reap the harvest of salvation. That was the last Great holy day given. We’re still in the harvest. The Spirit is spreading the Gospel and salvation. Lift up your eyes and look around; the harvest is ripe; it’s all around you. Look for people who need salvation. Go and tell them the good news. You have the answer. The Spirit was given to you so you can also have power. Go forth into the fields of harvest – the Great Commission. The Spirit will rest upon you, and you will be clothed with power. For Pentecost is Khag Ha Katzeer, the Feast of Harvest.
