10/14/2023 – Lesson 4 – John Chapter 3: “Jesus, Nicodemus and John the Baptist”

0

I will include here three of the questions from this week’s lesson along with my answers:

#4.a. – Why would Jesus talk to Nicodemus about being born again before saying anything else?

  • Loving Nicodemus, he wanted to start with the most important thing to Nicodemus, his only path to eternal salvation.

#5 – Explain what Jesus meant by the word “flesh” in verse 6? (See also John 1:14; 6:51-56, 63 and Romans 8: 5-9.)

  • Through original sin, man is carnal and corrupt, and as noted in Romans 8:8, he is incapable of pleasing God.

# 8. – How does the incident involving Mose4s in the wilderness point to Jesus? (See also Numbers 21: 4-9)?

  • See John Gill’s Bible commentary on the web for free by verse: The Targum of Jonathan adds that the one bitten by the snake should live if he directed his heart to the Lord.

FYI to this Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) global bible study program – Sep23 – May24:

Again, this is the “Bible Study Fellowship” (BSF) worldwide Bible study that runs for 30 weeks. The website is mybsf.org. If you establish account and login, you can: 1) pull up the entire course material which runs 400+ pages; 2). use other reference material; 3). look up the nearest group near you.

My current plan is to cover the sixth day review question that covers the entire reading for the week, and then perhaps selectively on other daily questions. Questions? Contact me at semikkah7@protonmail..com

All the Questions and notes are on the “BSF” website: Go to mybsf.org. On the main menu – Click on “lessons” in the left hand column , then click on “Adult Lesson (Questions & Notes) PDF”. Finally , you will select “lesson 2”.

Soli Deo Gloria!
