10/24/2021: Luke 6:26 / If everyone speaks well of me, “Houston, we have a problem!”

So, not only is it my sin, but it is the sin of omission for a Christian brother(s) who observe it and do not rebuke me for it. Check out these verses:

Luke 6:26: “Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets.”

Also:

John 15:18-19: “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.”

John 7:6-7 : “Therefore Jesus told them, “The right time for me has not yet come; for you any time is right. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil.”

And note!: Rebuking a brother in Christ out of love.

Corinthians 5:12-13: “What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside, “Expel the wicked man from among you.”

So, if you call yourself a Christian, praise God, for you should have a brother that will rebuke you appropriately to set you back on His straight path. The future Christian is not blessed in this way, not yet anyway.

Finally brothers, I submit this as my choice for most often quoted verse: Matthew 7:1: “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” I’ve heard it much more often from self professed believers. As such, they are in error, for as believers, they are most definitely subject to “judgement”, given Corinthians 5:12-13.
