08/13/2028 – Episode 139 – “The False Gospel of the Democratic Socialist of America (DSA)” / Post 2 of 2 (Post 1 yesterday)

“DSA told you their whole gospel in pronouns. In pronouns. And Almost nobody reads a paragraph for its pronouns. I want you to read it again and count…. And they set that against “we.” And on the other side of the line, they have “them”, right? The owning class, the capitalist class, the ones who exploit the rest of us. Before this paragraph proposes a single policy, it’s already done two things that are not economics at all.
It is told you where sin lives. And it’s told you where salvation comes from. That’s not a platform, that’s a gospel. And it has the same two doctrines that every gospel has: 1) doctrine of what’s wrong with the world, or a doctrine of sin, hermartyology, right? 2) And a doctrine of who’s going to fix it, a doctrine of salvation, of soteriology.
So, hear the doctrine of sin, listen to it, because it’s already seductive, it’s a lie. And the two are not in tensions right? Here’s what socialism tells you is wrong with the world. Are you ready? It’s “them”. The problem is a class of people. It’s the man with more than you. Move the owning class, and you cure the disease.
Now, it’s easy to feel the pull of that, isn’t it? I mean, because it’s much easier to hate a category than really to search your own heart, and the reason for that is it costs you nothing. It never once asks you to repent. It lets you locate every evil in the world in somebody else’s bank account, and then you can walk away from the mirror clean. That’s the appeal, and that is exactly why it can never save anybody, because the oldest news in the Bible is the line between good and evil that doesn’t run between any other class, right? It runs through the middle of all of us. The true message of sin, the true message of hermadiology , the true doctrine of sin says that all of us are sinners, right?
With socialism, if you move the owning class tomorrow and you put the workers on the throne, what you’re going to find is the same greed, the same envy, the same grasping, because you didn’t move the sin, you just relocated it and gave it a nicer name. You can’t abolish the human heart by abolishing private property. And here’s their doctrine of salvation. And it’s the word that we started with, “we”, together, together, we can take control. You remember when they said that?
That’s their savior. It’s not a man, not God, a pronoun, a big pile of we-ness, a big pile of us-ness, gathered and organized and marching, and the whole world gets remade. That’s the promise of the whole, that the whole group of people are standing in the aisle waiting to figure out, right?
You’re not powerless. You don’t need saving from the outside. You’re not a sinner, right? You are actually, in their world, you’re actually salvation. All we need to do in order to make the salvation work is to add one more of you.
Now watch what that we has to do to hold together, because this is the thing that I need every one of you to see. The DSA we is built on finding of them. It’s assembled by grievance. The only thing that binds it is a shared enemy. Take away the owning class, take away the villain, and the we has nothing left to hold it because it was never a fellowship.
It was a mob with a target. A we made out of who you’re against always is. And church, I need you to get this, and I need to slow down here. Because they’ve counterfeited something so precious that we cannot let it pass. Because there is a true “we”. There is a real togetherness that human beings were made for, and a hunger underneath all of this that people actually ache for, for solidarity, for a body that stands as one.”
And that hunger is true. It’s not a lie. God put it in you. You were never meant to stand alone. The lie is where they aim it and how they build it. Because we look at the church, and look at how hard it stands against the DSA paragraph. Because it’s the same words in a different world. I want you to hear this very clearly. They say, multiracial working class. Scripture say, every tribe, tongue, and nation. They say, united in solidarity. Scripture says, one body, one spirit, one Lord. They say, no longer divided.
Scripture already did it, already tore down the wall of hostility, already made the two into one new man. Every single thing that paragraph promises, God has already built. But watch how he built it, because the how is absolutely everything. The DSA we is gathered by pointing at any enemy across the aisle from you. The true we is gathered by a man who was nailed to a cross for the people on both sides of the aisle.
One body is assembled by envy, the other by blood. One is bound by who it hates, the other by who was slain for it. And only one of them will be standing when there’s no rich man left to be angry at because only one of them was ever built out of love instead of grievance.

It is reaching for the church without knowing it. It wants the fellowship without the cross that makes the fellowship possible. It wants the reconciliation without the reconciler. It wants every wall down except the one between itself and God. And so it builds it’s counterfeit body, the only way a body can be built without Christ, out of a common enemy, out of a them.
So, when you hear that we… don’t just hear a political slogan, hear a longing, hear people reaching in the dark for the things that you already have a seat in. Ask yourself why the church has left them reaching. That’s the question that we’re going to have to come back to before our time is done. That’s what I got on that section.”
