01/16/2021 – Day 244 – Hosea 8 – 14 // “There must be plowing before there is sowing if there is to be reaping after the sowing.” quote by Charles Spurgeon./ post 1 of ?

After a year to date dive into the prophets and the Wednesday Jewish history book night, I could write a book just on this day’s reading. But nobody would read it, not even my Christian grandkids after I am gone. Why? Because they will be too busy evangelizing like the underground Iranian church, taking the role of Holy Spirit messengers, witnessing transformation of non-believers into disciples within a 30 minute or so timeframe. Can you believe that the church in this country is generally clueless that this miracle is going on as we speak? God answers prayers so pray big in His name and to His glory! I sense the monks , post Rome fall, saved western civilization through prayer alone. And they were a mess, but like me, they are a redeemed mess! (note – present tense is intentional, they are our unseen cheering section now! Hope that is seen is not hope…. )

Ok , back to the title which is linked to Hosea 10:12: “Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.” Go ahead and try convincing me that God isn’t speaking to us right now , 2700+ years ago? Do you think man, left to his or her own devices, is any different today?

Funny, I am thinking of the disbanded group – Delirious’ song titled: “Rain down.” Ok , I can’t resist , it links to the verse too so here is the link – Delirious’ last gig to a packed crowd in London:

So, what is this verse and Spurgeon in his commentary quotes saying? (If you want a hint: read, reflect and pray on Romans 7: 7 & 13 and Galations 3:24) I could say all of Romans , chapter 7 and even into chapter 8.)
