07/05/2025 – Day 349 – Revelation – Chapters 7 – 10
There is a post from last cycle that covers commentary on 7: 4-8 / 9: 1-21 / 10:10 through a John Gill commentary. But for today, I am including a full chapter commentary for each chapter, from four different sources. One comment that really brought home how difficult it is to understand Revelation, unless you have expert commentary research, the note that events in verse sequence do not necessarily reflect the actual sequence of events.
Enjoy:
You will note that this chapter 7 commentary is premillennial dispensationalist interpretation, in short, a belief in the rapture. I think the rapture can certainly be inferred in verses like 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17. So, since I am not completely convinced, I adhere more to the “Historic Premillennialism” view, which I share with John Gill; Charles Spurgeon; and John Piper in our day, to name a few. I do not view differences in millennial view as foundational to our faith; it would not affect by itself in my decision in selecting a home church.
