Once again, it is not about the messenger, but the message. Parkside Church in Cleveland, Ohio is blessed with a pastoral team that I would characterize thusly: “not flashy, but rock solid”.

FYI: Psalm 117 is within the “Great Hallel” adoration prayer group, traditionally sung during the Passover celebration. Here is the footnote in “The Apologetics Study Bible” for Psalm 117:

“This, the shortest chapter in the Bible, is a complete hymn of praise. It includes the invitation for all people – not just Israel – to celebrate the Lord. It also give the reason for praise: the Lord has been faithful to His covenant with His people (“faithful love” translated Hebrew hesed, loyalty based on a covenant relationship). Finally, it speaks of His enduring ‘faithfulness’ (Hebrew ‘emunah, “truth” in the sense of reliability, the root of the English word “amen”). All of this is bracketed between the cries of praise, “Hallelujah!”

My ideaphoria this morning:

Mission – Start a small monthly global prayer group on a WhatsApp platform that initially includes the U.S. and Africa. “Small” as a mustard seed to start, both in terms of time, just once monthly and very short. We would start with “The Great Hallel”. But just imagine the God-driven possibilities against such a small initial kingdom investment!

Soli Deo Gloria!

This reflection on Psalm 117 is just powerful for me. I’m reminded that God’s love and faithfulness are constant, even when it gets tough. Thinking about my own struggles, I’m reminded! Romans 8:28 ‘And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good.’ A song we could tirelessly sing as kids obscure of what it actually meant well not really paying attention to the text but the melody. May we hold onto that truth and find peace in God Creator and Author of our lives. We can trust that He’s capable to work out this good in our lives only if we make efforts to build our faith.
I’m also looking forward to the global prayer group.
    Thanks Jimmy for todays post!
