As noted last week, I will post my answers here in the next few days before the end of our thanksgiving week. Normally, we post fellowship discussion around posted comments from specific posts, but that would shut out “read only” users. If at any point, you would like to contribute to our group but don’t yet have a logon, send me an email with your comment(s) to semikkah7.com. With your permission of course, I will post them for the benefit of the group. And of course at any point, send me an email to the same address if you would like to get a logon for ongoing posts and comment fellowship. Write access users: Continue to use the comment selection to this post.

I will add my (Jimmy) footnote denoted: (*1) with my reply separated by lines above and below:

This is from pgs. 80 – 81 from Wiersbe’s book noted in Post #1:

  1. What sometimes causes us, like the Israelites, to believe that we will not suffer consequences for our actions?

(*1) – Replies – Jimmy – 11/28/2025

We observe on a daily basis, how evil doers don’t seem to suffer consequences, even less so in many cases from their innocent victims. And amongst self professed christians, fear of the LORD, seems to be steadily disappearing over my (Jimmy – 70 years) lifetime.

4. The Jews had difficulty believing that God’s judgment was imminent. How near do most of us today feel God’s judgment is? Why do you think that is the case? (*) For our purpose here, “us” defined as christian believers.

We can’t measure hearts, but it seems there is a fair number of christians that expect a rapture (*A) with increasing probability in our lifetime, even amongst fellow seniors. But for “amillennialists” and “Post-millenialists”, much less so. But still, the numbers are increasing, given I submit, a growing global evil that we haven’t seen before in all of history dating back to Noah’s time. To the side, it baffles me how “post-millennialists” see us within the 1000 (albeit not literal) year kingdom. Really, the devil is bound up today??

5. Explain your perspective on the relationship between our belief in God’s judgment and our obedience to God’s commands.

The sanctification process of a believer, by definition, should result in a growing fear of the LORD, which in turn leads to increasing “just trust and obey.”

6. If someone asked you for the top three ways to identify a false prophet, what would you tell them?

See core characteristics:

https://biblehub.com/q/False_prophets_traits_in_Ezekiel_13_1.htm

From these characteristics, I would rank order these three as the most definitive early on detections:

• Invoke the phrase “Thus declares the LORD” even though He has not sent them (v. 6). I submit this would call for “righteous anger” , a warning to brothers and sisters, with a quick exit.

• Offer “false visions and lying divinations” (v. 6). Test it against scripture!

• Build flimsy spiritual structures—“a wall plastered with whitewash” (v. 10). Test it against scripture!

9. If faith can’t be ‘borrowed’ how does the presence of righteous people benefit a city or a culture?

  1. The righteous remnant escalate prayer and engagement as evil escalates. We can’t lose for God can’t lose.

10. What do you see around you every day that reminds you that God’s judgment is coming?

(*1)

  • Moral Decline (*B) and Lawlessness on a global scale like never before: (*B) – “Good is called evil and Evil is called good.”
  • Apostasy in the Church
  • Persecution of Christians Worldwide that is seemingly ignored even amidst fellow christians from nations not as impacted.
  • “The Gospel will be preached to all nations.”
