11/23/2025 – 2 Thessalonians 2:13 – 3:5 / Senior Pastor Ken Emerson (link attached)
You will visually see this introductory slide: “The Four Responsibilities to the Truth”:
- Believe the Truth / Chapter 2 – vs 13 – 15 – A thanksgiving
- Guard the Truth / Chapter 2 – vs 15 – an appeal
- Live the Truth / Chapter 2 – vs. 16 – 17 – a prayer
- Share the Truth / Chapter 3: 1 – 5 unseen forces
You can skip announcements of course, but I would recommend joining around thirteen months with the last praise song – “Gratitude”, before the sermon.

Over the last four years, this blog has posted sermons largely from Parkside Church , Cleveland , senior pastor Alistair Begg and Associate Pastors. Lesser in number , we have also posted sermons from Voddie Baucham; John McArthur; R.C. Sproul; and Bishop Fulton Sheen. Alistair Begg retired a few months ago. All of the other pastors named are home with the LORD now.
It is not about the messenger. We joined the CCBC community about four months ago. For sermon postings, if I had to choose one between Parkside Church and CCBC, it would be CCBC. I have an embarrassing admission. I noted to Nancy that I would like to have access to all CCBC sermons. Long story short, when we got home she noted on her screen: “Here they are Jim!” / “I am a mess, but I am a redeemed mess!”

“Theological Implications” from the link above”:
Theological Implications
The preservation of a remnant highlights several key theological truths:
1. God’s Sovereignty: God’s ability to preserve a remnant demonstrates His control over history and His power to fulfill His purposes despite human failure.
2. God’s Mercy and Grace: The remnant is always preserved by God’s grace, not by human merit. This underscores the unmerited favor that God extends to His people.
3. Covenant Faithfulness: God’s commitment to His covenant promises is unwavering. The preservation of a remnant is a testament to His faithfulness to His word.
4. Hope and Restoration: The concept of a remnant provides hope for restoration and renewal. It assures believers that God will always maintain a people for Himself, even in times of widespread apostasy.
Throughout Scripture, God’s faithfulness to preserve a remnant serves as a powerful reminder of His enduring love and commitment to His people, ensuring the continuation of His redemptive plan for humanity.
