01/03/2025 – “How do we live beyond the daily grind?…”
“I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.” Psalm 9:2
“How do we live beyond the daily grind? The answer is: “A song.” But not just any song! I have in mind some songs that are really old — the original Rock music, with a capital “R.” They’re called psalms. Those age-old compositions drip with the oil of glory that enables us to live beyond the grind. Without God’s song in our soul, our long days will never end and those wearisome roads will never bend.”

Comment: Pray through chapter 9 in its entirety! When our church has many small prayer groups, I would choose to join the one that follows the “ACTS” acronym for prayer order as follows: Adoration; Confession; Thanksgiving; and, finally Supplication (Petition). Not as some rigid guideline mind you lest we don’t follow the Holy Spirit as he leads us. And I submit further, you can’t go wrong with praying the Psalms, particularly for Adoration prayer!
