That is indeed amazing that Twain was born and died around Halley’s Comet, a once in 75 years event. And according to his stated dream no less.

I heard a Eric Metaxas interview years back of Jonathan Cahn , where Jonathan recounted that Mark Twain’s pronouncement that “Palestine sits in sackcloth and ashes”, along with: “Jerusalem has lost all it’s ancient grandeur” was in fact a fulfillment of an Old Testament prophecy that a man in the future would make those very pronouncements, to think that man was to be Mark Twain. I actually read the book many years ago.

“I came in with Halley’s Comet in 1835. It is coming again next year, and I expect to go out with it. It will be the greatest disappointment of my life if I don’t go out with Halley’s Comet. The Almighty has said, no doubt: ‘Now here are these two unaccountable freaks; they came in together, they must go out together’.”

Mark Twain – 1909

Soli Deo Gloria!
