07/03/2020 – Day 033 – Job 9 – 10
From my bible footnote on 8:6,7. “Beware of those who believe that God prospers us according to our righteousness. Most billionaires aren’t the slightest bit godly.”
9:33 footnote: “Job longed for a mediator to state his case in court before the judge. God would later send one for humanity. ‘There is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus’ (see Tim. 2: 5-6)”
So, I never thought of this one before:
Job is a “foreshadowing” of Christ, we can see that he in facts shares in the suffering of Christ (1 Peter 4). At the same time: Only God measures a heart, but we can see in these verses he evidences that he has already been saved: He knows His savior Yeshua the Christ, even though His incarnation is forward about 1000 years. On top of all that, through this Book of Job, we witness the sanctification process within the soul of Job, a process that does not end for us as believers until our last breath.
Soli Deo Gloria! Weak analogy, but His Word is like an onion, you just keep peeling back onions on the same passages multiple times over our lives. As noted, it is a good thing we have eternity with the Triune God, because that is how long it will take to “know” Him.
