04/18/2026 – “We finally get to “dump our me” in heaven, replaced by “one body in Christ”. Jesus will have our me! // 2 of 2 – Incomprehensible LORD
“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever does his life for My sake and the gospel, will save it.” Mark 8:35 (Also Luke 9:24 / Matt 16:25)
A confounding paradox, this was a bible verse that I couldn’t make sense of in my teenage years. It is a process! (Post 1 of 3)
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” Romans 12:2
“Transformed” in the Greek New Testament is the word “Metamorphoo”. Yes, as in English; “metamorphasis”, as in a caterpillar to a butterfly. No word is powerful enough, But I prefer “Metamorphoo”. It only appears four times in the Bible, and two of those are the transfiguration of Jesus.
Back to Mark 8:35, we have to die to self to find eternal life. Here are 100 bible verses that support this paradox:

I would personally recommend Romans 6: 1-23 – Paul’s Chapter with Two subtitles in my Apologetics Study Bible to start: “The New Life in Christ” and “From Slaves to Sin to Slaves of God”! Here are just the first few verses:
“What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. … Romans 6: 1-23

Additional Insights
- Self-Denial: Jesus teaches that true discipleship requires self-denial and a willingness to sacrifice personal ambitions for His sake (Matthew 16:24).
- Transformation: The process of dying to self involves a transformation where believers embrace a new identity in Christ, living according to the Spirit rather than their fleshly desires (Galatians 5:16).
- Daily Commitment: Dying to self is not a one-time event but a daily commitment to follow Christ and reject sinful inclinations (Luke 9:23).
These verses collectively highlight the biblical call to prioritize spiritual growth and obedience to God over personal desires.

The Triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit have been circling around each other in an incomprehensible agape love dance for all of eternity. (*A) We can’t even begin to comprehend agape love nor eternity: no beginning, no end, the alpha and the omega. Notice : Three persons , One God!; The Trinity! Let’s reflect on this for a moment.
Muslims proclaim that Christians are polytheists. I get that from a limited human understanding perspective. But, the Word of God is clear, the one true God is incomprehensible. (*B – below)
Let’s just brush the surface: To our muslim, future christian brothers, I would say: You can conjure up a unipersonal god that is all powerful – “Allah”, but you can’t have a God of love, for love requires more than one person! Look at the Muslim religion: An unreachable angry god with no assurance of heaven. Muslims do not believe that we are created in the image of God nor do they believe in original sin, no sin to atone for, certainly not through a divine Savior. Where is the love?
So, we cannot get our heads around it but consider this: Agape love is incomprehensible and so is God’s holiness. But consider, it is so incredibly awesome and sublime that with “perfect” love, three persons coalesce into One God! So stay with me here!:
Likewise in heaven, we will all finally get to dump our me!, hallelujah!, and all of our fellow souls in Christ will coalesce into one body in Christ, just as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one!!! So, how is it that we all got invited to join in the eternal agape love dance of our Triune God!!! I submit that none of us can get our head around that, even in heaven. I think it is good that we have all eternity to fully understand our LORD, for that is how long it is going to take us! Hallelujah!
(*A) – Just to say, a sublime imagery that the messenger Timothy Keller put forward in his book: “Jesus the King”.
(*B) – Bible verses on our incomprehensible Lord:
“Yahweh is great and is highly praised; His greatness is unsearchable.” Psalm 145 / ““For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways.” This is the LORD’s
Declaration.”” Isaiah 55: 8-9

A Hymn of Praise: “Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments and untraceable His Ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor? Or who has ever first given to Him, and has to be repaid? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”
Romans 11: 33 – 36

Jesus Prays for All Believers:
“I pray not only for these, but also for those who believe in Me through their message. May they all be one, as You, Father, are in Me through their message.
May they also be one in Us, so the world may believe You sent Me. I have given them the glory You have given Me. May they be one as We are one.
I am in them and You are in Me. May they be made completely on, so the world may know You have sent Me and have loved them as You have loved Me.
Father, I desire those You have given Me to be with Me where I am. Then they will see My glory, which You have give Me because You loved Me before
The World’s foundation. Righteous Father! The world has not known You, and these have known that You sent Me. I made Your name known to them
And will make it known, so the love You have loved Me with may be in them and I may be in them.” John 17: 20 – 26
