It has been too long since my last American Minute article post.
Sainte Genevieve, the first settlement in the state of Missouri. Personally, I am going to seek out life stories of Christian warriors that were undaunted by life threatening depredations, stayng the course on a lifelong perseverence to ultmately triumph by God’s grace. We arm ourselves by prayer, and by following warriors past that not only inspire us but make us more than a little bit uncomfortable when we think about following in their footsteps. So, not only “inspiring” , but “convicting”. So , see the post on the “Free Burma Rangers” this past week. Let’s flood our local theatres on Sept 13th, bringing along current and future warriors. We need warriors, not pew sitters, this is not a numbers game.
Many inspiring stories are within this article including the unknown warriors, like Clarence Manion. Clarence knew and practiced the 10th Amendment to the Constitution. Ike? Not so much but we have Republicans far worse today. We are a reflection of those we elect and there is the rub. Note the clear godly perspective of warriors like Manion: “Communism is the activation of atheism. This is the personalization of anti-God. This is Armageddon.” Much as I disagree with FDR’s politics, he did indeed acknowledge Christian faith. I will close on: “We have nothing to fear , but fear itself.” So, let’s start transforming ourselves: “Get comfortable with uncomfortable.” God does the work but we have to be willing to participate with Him!
