09/17/2022 – Day 202 – Ezekiel 31 – 36 / What if in fact we are the watchmen? (see Chapter 33)// Also: Search and filter tools for quick “drill-down”.

I am going to file this also in “getting started in the blog” category , for it is a general tip that will be useful for those you read the blog but haven’t posted yet. If you contact me , at Semikhah7@protonmail.com, I can set you up with a logon with a system generated password. With a logon you will be able to enter original posts and comments to original posts. But not only that , you will be able to use the filter and search tools to quickly find prior posts that might date 2+ years back.

Specific example here in this reading: Once again, I highly encourage you to go back to 12/05/2020 , our prior Day 202 cycle and look for the post with the same title. I would recommend searching on : “Day 202” and it will pop right up.

Now further to this day 202 reading:

Chapter 33 – “Ezekiel the Watchman”

“if I tell the righteous man that he will surely live, but then he trusts in his righteousness and does evil, none of the righteous things he has done will be remembered, he will die for the evil he has done.” (v. 33:13)

“And if a wicked man turns away from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he will live by doing so. Yet, O house of Israel, you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just. But I will judge each of you according to his own ways.” (v. 33:19-20)

Ok. I will just put this out there for discussion: We are talking death in this world in this passage. But I submit the 2nd verse, speaks to us, regardless whether or not we see ourselves in the “watchman” position as Ezekiel was. Saved or not, we all will face a judgment. And I think verse 20 connects with Luke 12:48: “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required.” Also, recall the parable of the talents, one talent vs. five talents vs. ten talents. We can be assured that heaven will be unfathomable joyful and eternal. But will it be the same experience for all souls?

Thoughts?

Other question: Have y’all heard fellow souls voice something to this affect, what C.S. Lewis called “God in the Dock”: “How could God put a person in hell for eternity simply for not accepting Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior..” (fear of the Lord?)

“Son of man, say to the house of Israel, ‘This is what you are saying: and we are wasting away because of them. How then can we live? Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn!” (v. 33:11)

“Son of man, prophecy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who only take care of themselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?” (v. 34:1 – 2)

“I will search for the lost and bring back the strays, I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.” (v. 34:16)

A cousin shared with me once: “I thank God for not having too much in this world and also, for not having too little.” That same cousin and I, after much discussion, concluded that we were the most blessed and fortunate 1% of all souls born in history to that point. So, we were given 10+ talents. How many talents then are we expected to return? The same number as those that only received one talent? Or tougher yet, Jesus said: “it is hard for a rich man to get in the Kingdom of God then a camel to go through an eye of a needle”.

The church has grown most prolifically in history when it faced the worst persecution. So, we can build a case of wisdom behind a prayer similar to my cousin’s prayer. No?

I think we are the watchmen, just as Ezekiel was. I am humbled by that. The fear of God comes over me from that, which drives prayer, which collectively leads to an impregnable remnant for Jesus Christ!

Soli Deo Gloria!

Your brother in Christ,

Jimmy
