“Take the garment of one who puts up security for a stranger; hold it in pledge if he does it for a wayward woman.”

Proverbs 20:16

As to the garment clause, John Gill gives us a commentary, not only as it applies to us, rich vs. poor, but also as to Jesus in his life amongst us. Fascinating!, Here is the link:

“A wise man attacks the city of the mighty and pulls down the stronghold in which they trust.” Proverb 21:22

See link below. Perhaps I am extending John Gill’s commentary, but even christians can hang onto worldly strongholds after giving their heart to Christ. A beloved brother or sister in Christ will counsel them to release that stronghold, or, in essence, tell them exactly what they don’t want to hear. But it is out of love for that brother or sister. Bypassing that opportunity from our own “uncomfortable” is not love! Here is a real life example: Elite S.E.A.L. teams. They are constantly pushing their brothers into uncomfortable in order to make them stronger warriors in the battle against evil. And if they are “future”, not “current” Christians, that is what we would call “common grace” from God.
