8/22/2020 – Day 090 – Jeremiah – Chapters 1 thru 6 / Part 3 of 3 / Possible questions to help trigger the remmant’s synergy through this blog’s fellowship

-Maybe we start with questions that make us uneasy, where we sense a huge gap between what we know we need to do vs. what we are doing right now. Our special forces military are special in no small part from not only doing “hard things”, but pushing their brothers to do “hard things”. (wherever you are: ramp it up!) When does it end? It doesn’t. That is what makes them “special”. If they don’t push, they don’t love! That is where we need to go in very short order. ….

– The questions as a whole may convince us the spiritual fruits of group study in our church home communities and in our homes.

  • What was Jeremiah’s objection to becoming a prophet? (Ch 1)
  • What changed his attitude?
  • Although Jeremiah saw himself as a child, how did God see him? Why?
  • What do you think would have been the worst part of Jeremiah’s assignment? Why?
  • What would have been the best part? Why?
  • Given similar conditions today, would you be willing to stand for God against powerful opposition? Why or why not?
  • What resources does God give His people to help them deal with their doubts in difficult circumstances?
  • How can you use one of these resources this week?
  • How do you feel when you have to relay bad news to someone you care about? (noting Jeremiah was called to pass along bad news that judgment was coming for the nation of Israel)
  • What ten symbols represented God’s rebellious people? How was that an apt description? And what does it suggest of God’s attitude toward the sinfulness of His people?
  • skim chapters 3 and 4. What do these chapters teach us about repentance?
  • Read Chapter 5. What do you learn about righteousness from the people’s lack of it?
  • Read Chapter 6. What do you learn about retribution?
  • Why did Judah suffer so much?
  • What have you learned from Jeremiah’s decisive message to Judah?
  • Read 5:1. How can one person who is decisive make a difference.
  • In what ways can we speak up for God?
